PIED PIPER

Adapted by National Children's Theatre
Directors Renos Nicos Spanoudes and Sarah Barlin

What do you do when your town is overrun by an infestation of rats? Easy, call the Pied Piper!

Take a trip to National Children's Theatre (NCT) as they perform an original musical adaptation of well known, well loved, and classic Robert Browning poem The Pied Piper of Hamelin town.

It is the story of the arrogant politician Mr Mayor who really doesn't care about the town and the hard working people who live and work there. He is a greedy man who earns a ridiculously high salary which he spends on overseas trips, golfing and beautiful things. He is a tyrant - but meets his match when in desperation he hires a strange Piper to rid the town of rats. Unfortunately for him, he doesn't want to pay the Piper for his services. See the show and find out how the Piper retaliates.

Skillfully adapted for the stage by Renos Nicos Spanoudes and Sarah Barlin, this fantastic, humorous adventures will transports you into a world of song and dance, mystery and make-believe, love and laughter. It's a story that will warm your heart during the cold winter school holidays. However, the story is not all froth and bubble - there are few good lessons to be learnt.

The creative team includes Directors: Renos Nicos Spanoudes and Sarah Barlin, Musical Director: Dale Scheepers, Costume Design: Sarah Roberts, Set Design: Stan Knight and Sarah Roberts, Choreographer: Sibusiso Nhlapo and Lighting Design: Jane Gosnell.
